On behalf of First Baptist Church Mount Olive, I want to welcome you to our church website! I’ve only been a part of Wayne County since 2023, pastoring Rosewood First Baptist in Goldsboro until my coming to join this great community in Mt Olive May 2026. I think you will agree that the love and support that you receive here is like no other.

I was born and raised in the Raleigh area born at Wake Med in 1978. My dad was a pastor on staff of First Baptist Church, Cary, North Carolina, my home church family. We moved to Apex from Cary when I was 5 years old and I attended Apex schools from Kindergarten through High School. After graduation I attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It was there I got involved in Campus Ministry and serving in local churches through the Baptist Student Union. I answer God’s call on my life to serve as a vocational pastor in college and attended Campbell Divinity School for my theological education receiving 2 degrees: Masters of Divinity in 2004 and Doctorate of Ministry in 2015. I was ordained into the gospel ministry at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. I have served churches both in North Carolina as well as in Virginia for a total 25+ years of ministry!

I am married to Beth Lipp, my wife of 24 years. She is a Behavioral Therapist and Analyst serving kids on the autistic spectrum. My oldest child, our daughter Sophie, was born in 2009 and attends Rosewood High School where she plays soccer and is on the varsity cheer teams. Our youngest child, our son Cohen was born in 2018. Cohen loves to build Legos and is learning to play soccer. We enjoy trips to Carolina and Wrightsville Beach in the summer and snow skiing in the winter in the mountains of North Carolina or wherever we can find snow!

Come check us out on Sunday morning for Sunday School, and for worship or Wednesday night at one of our dinners and season Bible Studies and activities and ministries throughout the week for all ages including adults, senior adults, children, and youth.
